Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 27, 2026
Clear Pick (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is an iOS application that helps you pick the best photos from your library using on-device artificial intelligence. We designed Clear Pick to be private by default.
Summary
- Your photos never leave your device.
- We do not run servers that receive your photos or AI results.
- We use a third-party error monitoring service (Sentry) that receives crash reports — but never your photos.
- We do not sell your data. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
What data the app accesses
Clear Pick requests access to your Photo Library so it can analyze and rank your photos. All analysis happens locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple’s on-device machine-learning frameworks. The contents of your photos, their metadata, and the scores produced by the app stay on your device.
What data we collect
We do not collect personal information from the app. We do not require an account, and we do not maintain a backend that stores your data.
If you choose to email us, the email you send (and your email address) will be processed by your email provider and ours so we can reply to you.
Crash reports (Sentry)
Clear Pick uses Sentry to receive crash reports so we can find and fix bugs. Sentry runs as an SDK inside the app and sends a report to Sentry’s servers when the app crashes.
What Sentry receives:
- Crash stack traces and exception details.
- App version, OS version, device model, locale.
- Breadcrumbs — a short trail of in-app events leading up to a crash, such as which screen you were on.
What Sentry does not receive:
- Your photos or thumbnails.
- Photo metadata (EXIF, location, timestamps).
- The scores or rankings produced by the on-device AI.
- Any account or contact information (we don’t collect any).
Sentry’s own data handling is described in the Sentry privacy policy. The Sentry integration cannot currently be turned off from inside the app.
Apple-provided diagnostics
Separately from Sentry, if you opt in to share diagnostics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may send anonymized crash reports and performance data to us. These reports do not contain your photos.
Children’s privacy
Clear Pick is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
